"Date a girl who may never own completely clean clothes, because of paint and glitter hidden among the fabric. She’ll have many hidden treasures in her studio, which will always be a mess. Her laptop is surrounded by piles of creations, and you're never bored because there is so many images, so many created worlds that she’s scattered throughout her turf. Folders open and shelves stacked, filled with vintage and contemporary art movements. Interesting factoids about the origins of paper art, and the luminosity of scorpion. Laugh it off when she tells you that she didn't forget to clean her room, she just found an old creation that inspired her to create anew, that she lost track of time, and hasn't even started getting ready. On her floor you'll find a few years worth of Juxtapoz and Rolling Stone scattered around with notes in the margins. You'll show up as she's washing paint off her face and you'll help her get the glitter out of the corner of her eye. You'll wait for her to shower and change her outfit 4 times before she's ready to go, but she'll still ask you 50 times if she looks okay.

Find a girl who creates. You’ll know that she has an uncanny ability to think outside the box, she'll be a dreamer with a wild imagination, and she will dream up and draw out new, exciting worlds; exotic universes for you, she's enthusiastic about everything. She's the one that refuses to choose a favorite color, and she finds the beauty in every season. She’s the one with the bright, multicolored eyeshadow, and different hair style every week, the one bringing a duffel bag full of art supplies to the waiting room at the hospital to do arts & crafts with all the little children. You see that girl laying on her stomach leaning over a sketchpad, kicking her feet in the air, and listening to her iPod. Her iPod will have at least 3,000 songs that she's never heard, but won't delete. That’s the artist. Every now and then her fingers will be covered in multiple unknown substances that you will have to wash away to clean her burns from the glue gun that she forgot to unplug. She'll constantly remind you to be gentle when you hold her hands that are constantly getting hurt. She will never stop, she'll never learn to be careful, creating 2D images from her 3D dreams, showing you what it's like to be inside her head. She'll share her deepest fears and greatest desires. Hopes and dreams. Happiness and love. That’s the creator She can never resist filling her arm with her ideas when she doesn't have paper, and she'll keep it there until she sees it through.

Kiss her under a weeping willow, filled with fireflies. Tell her your hopes and dreams.

She’s the girl that has a million pens, but never a black, blue, or red one. She’s the loud girl in a quiet cafe, trying to fit in, but refuses to turn her music down. She won't order anything, for she brought her own food and drink. She's just there to get away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. She loves to play dominoes, scrabble, and cards. Don't hesitate to teach her a new game. If you're lucky, she'll ask if you want to hear her favorite song of the week, and she won't care if you don't like it. Music will never be an issue for you two because she likes everything. If you ever do fight, just leave her alone. When she comes back, she’ll have already forgotten it.

Don't use a pick-up line with her. She'll become bored and ask how many times you've used it.

Instead, sit down with her quietly. Let her smile at you and wonder why you are smiling back at her. She'll laugh quietly and turn away. Show her that you are interested in her. Her ideas, her dreams, everything in between. You'll be thinking about her body, no doubt, because she shows it off, but don't let her see it. This girl presents herself with class and sex appeal. Once you get to know her she’ll repeat her stories, don't remind her that she told you. She'll get embarrassed and become quiet. If she closes her sketchbook, ask to see it, and tell her how impressed you are. Tell her you want to paint with her, your want to draw her, and ask if she's ever put her work on display. She’ll whisk you away to her home town, a dinky little pond that she spent hot summer days when she was overwhelmed with all her ideas, and you will be mystified by her. She’s got many different sides, and you'll spend most of your time trying to figure her out. She's tough, but will cry if she has disappointed, she is proper and polite in public, but you'll know the real her better than anyone. She'll surprise you every day and you'll never know what to expect.

You will laugh as she tells you things she's already told you before, and if she ever stops talking, you'll think you did something wrong. and your heart will skip a beat when she holds your hand and she paint stories and dreams of your lives together. She’ll hold you close and talk about everything under the sun until you both fall asleep. She’s lovely, remember that. She’s self made, self -expressed, and she’s brilliant. Her names for the children will be original, and probably something you've never heard, but you’ll embrace that. A girl who creates will ignite your children's imaginations.

Date a girl who creates because you deserve it. She’s curious, she embraces new ideas or challenges, puzzling at times and she’s lovely. She’s got the most colorful life. She may be living in NYC or she may be living in a small cottage. Date a girl who creates because a girl who creates sees the world a little differently than most.

It is hard to date a girl who creates. But be patient with her. Give her canvas for her birthday, any material she can turn into art for Christmas and anniversaries, moleskins for her ideas and homemade creations for inspiration. Give her the gift of knowledge, for creators are quick and eager learners, and they search the world for inspiration. Let her know that you’re behind her every step of the way, and she will do the same.

She’ll love you hard, and forgive you easily.

Don’t lie to her. She's been lied to plenty, and will know you are lying before you even have a chance to lie. She relies on her emotions and feelings, and they always let her know when she's on to something. Your lies with disappoint her because she will believe you are better than that. She won't understand but she will forgive, after some time. She'll know that you are human, and she expects you to make mistakes, but don't take her forgiveness for granted. As long as you keep her happy, she'll keep dreaming. Don't break her heart. It will pull her back into reality, a place she only wants to go when she must. A girl who creates will love you for your flaws, because she knows that many great works of art started with an accident, and a flaw can give beauty to any piece of art.

A girl who creates will not expect perfection from you. Her work is creative, her portfolio is multifaceted because of interesting flaws. She’ll understand that a great piece of art does not have perfect symmetry does not have perfect line work; paint bleeds and colors fade. She’ll understand trouble, because it changes her work, expands her mind. No artist wants an easy task; the girl who creates will understand that you are only human, but will always believe you can be better.

Be her inspiration, be her darling, her love, her dream, her world.

If you find a girl who creates, keep her close. If you find her at 2 am, covered in paint, making the house a mess with her materials thrown all over, bring her her favorite candy, she'll be happy to have you there and will go on and on about her ideas and what she's working on. She'll offer you some candy, and if you don't take it, she'll save it for you anyway. a chill. You will never lose her to her world, because she will bring you with her, taking you to a place few have been, showing a side few have seen. You will be amazed by her every single time, you'll become her canvas when she's feeling flirtatious and frisky, and she'll become yours as well.

She is your Muse. When you are afraid of failure, she will guide you, her ideas turning into lanterns, turning into lights and stars and candles that will guide you at your weakest times. She’ll be the one to save you.
You will propose to her. Maybe in front of the Louvre museum, maybe in her tiny studio in San Diego. Maybe in Santa Fe. Maybe Chicago. Los Angeles. Maybe while she's naked, painted head to toe at Burning Man. Because she’s fearless, wherever she goes. Never outside of a cinema; don't even think about kissing her in the rain. She’ll say that it is overused and cliché, she wants something she's never seen before. She wants originality.

Don't let her change. Don't let the problems of life stop her from doing what she loves.

Because that is the best part about a girl who creates. She has imagination and she has courage, and it will be enough. She’ll save you in the oceans of her dreams, she’ll be your canvas and she’ll be your beauty, and she’ll become your world, in the curve of her smile when you wink at her, how her eyes change color in the sunlight, and how no matter what, she believes in the goodness of people, the ides that are pouring out of her, a torrent, a wave, a crescendo - so many sensations that you will be left breathless by a girl who creates.

Maybe she’s not the best at grammar, but that is okay.

A girl who creates will understand how to escape reality. She’ll frustrate you at times, and maybe sometimes you will wish you hated her. Sometimes she will wish it, too. But you both know that you truly love each other. A girl who creates may be a dreamer, but she understands human nature, and she will understand that you both have your weaknesses. She will not leave on the Midnight Train the first moment that things go sour. She will understand that sometimes you get thrown obstacles that you just have to fit it to the wonderful thing called life.

Date a girl who creates.

Because there is nothing better then a girl who creates."
